XRS - Extensible Radio Specification XRS Technology: Interfacing radio with computers.
XRS Extensions

The XRS (Extensible Radio Specification) has been serving very well in providing a flexible means of continuous improvement and addition of new features and facilities to radio receivers.

As new radio technologies are emerging, making it possible to to offer new and advanced applications, it is now time to extend the Extensible Radio Specification a step further.

The additions contained in the new XRS Specification 1.2 are relatively small in volume, but significant in content: Software-Defined Radio (SDR) features are now incorporated in XRS - and these are also already proven and tested in the world's first commercially available SDR - the WiNRADiO WR-G303i shortwave receiver).

Other new facilities include the provision for the new DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) technology.

The upgraded specification is available for download subject to standard XRS-related legal provisions.
